Job Description

A Materials Buyer/Planner Coordinator is responsible for identifying and procuring the goods and services that an organization requires. The Materials Buyer/Planner Coordinator will work closely with the Market Scoping/Project Managers to identify material needs of the organization.

  • Identify and determine the purchasing needs of the organization
  • Work with Scoping and Production to forecast demand and evaluate inventory levels, and take orders from within the organization
  • Perform cost management to identify areas of potential cost reduction and analyze the impact of pricing changes for goods and services
  • Source materials using knowledge of current inventory levels for needed materials
  • Create Purchases orders using defined purchasing protocols
  • Assist in the receipt of purchased materials and services, and keep detailed records of purchases and stocks
  • Carefully monitor deliveries and any past due shipments
  • Build relationships with suppliers and manage their performance
  • Conduct routine supplier business reviews, evaluating supplier performance and compliance
  • Other duties as needed

Job Requirements

Skills and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience working with Purchase Orders
  • Must be self-directed and detail oriented,
  • Must have good organizational skills
  • Must have a deep understanding and professional experience with Purchasing Contracts
  • In-depth knowledge of Oracle r12 EBS platform and services
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Capable of analyzing and prepared detailed report
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and decision-making skills required
  • Excellent negotiation, customer service and consulting skills
  • Strong market knowledge and experience in working across various functions, businesses and regions
