Job Description

Perform Site and Cluster Level RF Design and Optimization Tasks for 4G- LTE, 3G - CDMA/UMTS/EVDO and upcoming 5G Networks.

• • RF Optimization Tasks include:
o Capture and Review Baseline KPI’s for the Site – Macro/In-Building and/or Cluster to identify KPIs that don’t meet KPI Targets and Thresholds.
o Review RFDS and Design Data – CIQ and compare it against OSS data.
o Ability to Perform and Review Gold Standard Parameter Audit for sites/carriers integrated in OSS.
o Perform Parameter changes on OSS – related to Gold Standard Alignment or Optimization Related parameter Changes
o Review RF Functionals – Alarms, RSSI-VSWR checks for the new sites and carriers. Highlight issues if the RF Functionals are not within acceptable standards and direct it to the appropriate teams for further troubleshooting.
o Ability to work with Tower/Civil/DAS Vendors and Field Technicians/Operations Technicians to troubleshoot RF Path Issues and verify post resolution.
o RF Drive/Walk/Geo-Located Data Analysis and providing RF Recommendations – E-tilt/M-tilt, Power, Idle and Connected Mode Parameter Changes, Azimuth Changes etc
o RF KPI Monitoring - Accessibility, Retainability, DL Throughput, Mobility
o Identify Worst KPI Offenders – Cells or Sites in cluster and then perform a deep dive RCA to troubleshoot and fix the issue – make relevant Parameter Changes ( E-tilt/M-tilt, Power, Idle and Connected Mode Parameter Changes, MIMO Parameters, Power Control Parameters, Traffic Balance related parameter changes etc )
o Post Optimization KPIs should be similar or better than Baseline KPI’s.
  • Identify Problem Areas – Poor Coverage, Pilot Pollution, over-shooter Analysis, Poor SINR Areas and performing Root Cause Analysis
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering required
• Experience and Expertise in working on the below mentioned tools:
o Mapping Software: Mapinfo Professional, Street Atlas, ibWave
o Telecommunication OEM Platforms: E//, Nokia, Samsung
o Design Tool: Asset, Atoll, ibWave
Fluent in conversational English
  • 0-2 years of RF Data Collection and/or RF Optimization Experience
  • Ability to review/create Neighbor Lists to troubleshoot Idle and Connected Mode Mobility issues.
  • Ability to update Design Databases – Atoll, Asset, iBwave with New Site/Cell Information and Running Coverage Propagation Models.
  • Proficient in Creating Drive Routes and post processing the Drive/Walk Data and preparing RF Optimization Report showing Key RF Attributes and UE Performance
