The Field Technician II will install, maintain, and operate wired, wireless, fiber optic and microwave telecommunications equipment and systems. As a Field Technician, support will be provided in the maintenance and operation of generators, HVAC, and telecommunication site infrastructures.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Understands and implements MasTec Network Solutions (MNS) Health Safety and Environmental Policies. (Safety Manual).
- Understands and implements Industry standards (OSHA, TIA10-48, NATE CTS and ANSI)
- Able to read and understand a customer detail plan
- Must have a labor-intensive attitude
- Provide superior customer service while ensuring all essential job functions are performed in a timely, efficient, accurate, and safe manner
- Adhere to all company and industry standards/regulations
- Prepare drawings of field sketches using AutoCAD
- Read and interpret structural and architectural drawings, specifications, and design requirements related to telecommunication, commercial, residential, and light industrial application
- Conduct due diligence for multiple projects prior to field work
- Review peer work product
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Training
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), technical degree preferred
Skills and Experience
- 2+ years of general construction experience preferred; some cell industry experience highly preferred.
- NWSA certification a plus
- Must be at least 21 years old, have a valid driver’s license, and clean driving record to operate a company vehicle.
- Ability to operate aerial lifts, man lifts, skid steers and aerial platform equipment
- Update equipment office records and installation specifications
- Must be able to pick up to 50 lbs., and capable of working up to 12 hours.
- Experience on AT&T or Verizon Wireless Networks
Working Conditions
- Must be available to work weekends and/or nights, in extreme weather conditions if necessary
- Must have the ability and be willing to travel extensively, as required for job related functions.
- Must be able to work out of market or away from home as work demands.
