Job Description

The Structural Engineer performs structural analysis of low complexity on existing communication structures (including guyed, self-supporting, monopoles, mounts, rigging plans, rooftops, platform designs, site compounds and their foundations). They will prepare formal, written reports detailing structural capacity and recommendations for modifications needs to increase capacity. The Structural Engineer will assist in the review of field inspections on non-complex towers and will work with the experienced engineer to recommend remediation requirements for less complicated issues.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

•Review requests for engineering services to determine that adequate information is provided to complete service.
•Review tower structures and foundations for existing, proposed and reserved tenant configurations.
•Review of mount analysis, rigging plans, construction drawings and pre/post inspection reports.
•Conduct periodic site visits to ensure to proper implementation of engineering designs.
•Work with existing processes to correctly open analysis projects.
•Perform analyses on projects of low complexity using hand calculations, structural analysis software and other accepted methods.
•Assist in design of modifications for telecommunication infrastructure reinforcing, extensions and foundations.
•Work with Designer staff on the development of modification drawings.
•Ensure accurate project status reporting to facilitate accurate customer and sales reporting.
•Adhere to applicable safety and OSHA procedures.
•Generate required engineering reports.
•Assist with other duties as assigned


Job Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering or a related field required.
  • Master's degree in civil or structural engineering or a related field preferred.
  • Engineer in training (%22EIT%22) or Engineering Intern (%22EI%22) certification strongly preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (%22PE%22) license preferred.
  • Ability to become licensed as a PE in multiple states via reciprocity preferred.
  • Structural Engineer (%22SE%22) license preferred.
  • Required experience includes at least one of the following:
    • Minimum of 6 years experience with communication tower design and analysis.
    • Minimum of 8 years experience in construction or field engineering of steel structures
    • Minimum of 8 years of structural engineering experience
    • Working knowledge of TIA/EIA-222 code and other relevant specifications strongly preferred.
    • Minimum of 2 years experience with AutoCAD preferred.
