Job Description

Material Supply Planner/Buyer
The Supply Chain Planner/Buyer position is a key role within our strategic plan for Supply Chain management. Key objectives will be achieving/improving/exceeding targeted customer service levels, managing inventory levels and targets, and managing supply and demand within the MNS Supply Chain team.
  • Participate and contribute to the SI&OP (Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning) process.
  • Coordinate inventory planning and replenishment of materials in conjunction with our scoping and operations teams through a Collaborative, Planning, Forecasting, and Replenishment (CPFR) process.
  • Determine purchasing requirements based on on-hand inventories, open orders, and lead times.
  • Plan and execute procurement of materials from suppliers.
  • Maintain strong working relationships and communications with suppliers to confirm production/shipping schedules and monitor open purchase orders for all orders to ensure on-time deliveries.
  • Proactively report material availability issues.
  • Expedite or defer orders as required based on construction schedule/inventory changes.
  • Coordinate material flows throughout product/BOM changes, obsolescence, and the introduction of new suppliers and/or materials.
  • Manage the inter-company flow or materials between warehouse locations.
  • Manage and resolve issues regarding PO to invoice discrepancies, returns and quality problems with suppliers.
  • Inventory Management: Support reporting, inventory parameters, reduction and reserve percentage measurements, Product Life Cycle management.
  • Maintain purchase order status and shipment tracking information.
  • Ensure and promote compliance to Company and Procurement policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

Skills and Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years Supply Chain (planning & procurement) experience.
  • BS/BA in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, preferred.
  • Oracle ERP system experience preferred.
  • APICS CPIM/CSCP, CPSM certification completed or in progress, preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Supply Chain concepts and application.
  • Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills (oral & written).
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently under pressure and react quickly to changing priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
