Job Description

The OHE Foreman leads the crew to complete daily tasks and meet customer needs, ensuring crew safety, keeping track of employee hours, completing daily & weekly safety briefings/inspections, and calls in project utility locations.

•Obtain all of the necessary licenses, permits, and materials for the job.
•Oversee, accomplish, and ensure all work quality related to each project and assume full responsibility for its standard and timeliness. Inspect work to ensure job quality and communicate with customers.
•Coordinate and delegate daily tasks to crew members related to digging and placing product.
•Gain entry to site buildings for work crew and call in utilities located at each project site.
•Facilitate daily toolbox talks and weekly safety inspections to ensure the crews work safely.
•Complete all paperwork in a timely manner.
•Connect wires and cables to terminals and attach/detach various kinds of hardware to wires, cables, buildings, or poles.
•Perform aerial tasks, such as pole transfers, strand building, and lashing.
•Perform construction work, such as digging holes, air pipe, and inner duct work in various types of conduit systems and open excavations.
•Train new hires and trainees to learn the trade.
•Tracks employee hours, turning them in on time.
•Drive, haul, and/or operate equipment to/from job sites to assist crews in completion of work.
•Keep the job(s) moving on time, clean up, and perform job restoration at the end of job.
•Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.

Job Requirements

Skills and Experience
A High School Degree, or equivalent.
•8 -10 years of experience.
•2 years of supervisory experience.
•CDL Class A license.
•Understanding of advanced electrical principles, including knowledge of electricity and how to safely work around it.
•Able to read and interpret blueprints.
•Proficiency in all phases of line construction.
•Compliance with proper safety standards, procedures, and work practices according to MasTec or the customer, whichever standard is higher.
•Ability to talk with customers’ inspectors and have a sense of customer service.
•Experience operating heavy equipment and general construction.
•Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more or 20 inches or less, with the ability to judge distance and space relationships.
•Precise hand-eye coordination.
•OSHA 10 Certification.
•Excavator training.
•This job operates in a field environment. This role routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, twisting, reaching above shoulder level, working in confined spaces, working off a pole or in a bucket.
•This job involves working in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind for 10 hour work days, with breaks. During storms this role may work in these conditions from 10 to 15 hours daily, breaks included.
•This position is physically active, with lifting required. Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 100 pounds.
