P O S I T I O N S U M M A R Y

The Fleet/DOT Manager will be responsible for DOT compliance, telematics, procurement, maintenance, repair, modification, recalls, licensing and disposal of vehicles and equipment within multiple markets.

E S S E N T I A L F U N C T I O NS

  • Continually focuses on achieving market base profitability through effective management of all fleet and maintenance activities including cost control, employee development.
  • Administers the fleet management operations policies including vehicle and equipment procurement, maintenance, repair and disposal.
  • Implements computerized information systems for inventory control, accounting, and record keeping as required for fleet management operations.
  • Collaborates with automobile manufacturers to develop detailed specifications for vehicles and other equipment and to make recommendations to address various safety issues and operational procedures.
  • Deploys vehicles for emergency and/or special situations.
  • Serves as liaison between the drivers, VP/GM%26rsquo;s and other various departments, and/or other agencies and associations to exchange information and investigate and resolve issues.
  • Participates on various committees and in various professional organizations and affiliations associated with fleet management.
  • Establishes and evaluates work procedures, preventive maintenance and repair standards, service schedules, quality control programs, and policies and procedures consistent with federal, state and local laws.
  • Develops specifications for the procurement of vehicles, equipment, parts and supplies necessary for fleet management.
  • Provides training and presentations as needed in a positive and professional manner.
  • Ensures DOT DQ files, Drug files, Training files, Background Investigation files, HOS Logs, and DVIRs are up to date and compliant with DOT FMCSA regulations.
  • Monitors hours of service (HOS) for required employees in safety sensitive roles, including documented auditing of Logbooks or E-logs (EOBR) for any HOS violations as well as maintaining logs on file per DOT requirements.
  • Maintains all DOT records and reports required by Federal and State CMV regulations.
  • Ensures Driver Qualification files are complete and updated as required by FMCSA rules and regulations. Ensures employment applications for Driver positions contain necessary information based upon Driver Classification
  • Ensures DOT regulated maintenance files are kept current for preventative maintenance, oil changes, annual inspections, brake maintenance and repair, registrations, and insurance.
  • Coordinate GPS unit installs with Corporate Fleet & Local management. Serve as the Market GPS Administrator, monitor vehicle usage / drivers as needed, produce and review Exception and Summary reports for Market Management use on a weekly basis.
  • Updates and submits required reports in a timely manner.

Job Requirements

S K I L L S & A B I L I T I E S

  • Bachelor%26rsquo;s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Previous administrative experience handling a multitude of tasks simultaneously
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software
  • 2-5 years of fleet administration experience
  • Management/Supervisory skills are a must
  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential information
  • May be required to testify in legal hearings.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver%26rsquo;s license.
